used 7x5e prop on yardbird f-22 as per recommendation Do not think LSPP will handle that size prop on MCD-14

...that explains the additional thrust, the smaller prop will likely result in more speed, but it takes time to build that speed.

Agreed... 7x5 is too much but 7x4 is great.

setup

dear guys

i tested on yarbird rc mig 29

for the weight of the plane we use the dm2210-1700kv seems to be a good match on the 7 x 5 apc e prop for a good reason the torque stays low so the plane doesnt want to roll all the time , the dm 2210 is capable of running a 7x7 prop but the torque wants to roll the plane all the time.

under development is the dm2210-2200kv motor i have tested it myself and that motor on a small plane like this. needs a slightly smaller prop i used the 6.5x5.5 apce prop with great success. mind blowing speeds.

but after that i wound up a dm2210-2800kv motor for it i felt the need for speed and it was pushing the airframe a little bit but she held together with a 6x4 gas prop and a 6x5 apc e prop seemed the gas prop at this rpm ran more efficiently.

well hopefully we will see some testing by dr. kiwi in the power forum shortly he has one and is testing it right now also testing our newest dm2205 2800kv motor 28 grams of super power.

Painting

For the guys that are putting these nice paint jobs on thier birds, Do you paint the parts before you assemble it or after it has been assembled? I am building the white version and I really like the way latexmans plane turned out. I would like to try and paint mine similarly to that. Thanks for your tips.

Motor Question?

Do you think a FRIO E/10/15 will be enough motor for this plane?

Unless of course the wink emits some sort of "radar signature." Then it could contain a world of information..
