I watched it spin on the monitor for a second before I got out of the truck to try and regain control. It was LOS the whole time and I watched it go in.

I tried to take the path at the end of the entrance road but it only goes about 100 yards and ends so it was back to tromping through the soybeans. Having a general idea where it was I stopped twice and throttled up the radio to try and listen for the prop. Nothing. I made it to the end of the soybeans and walked up the small hill to the path around the lake. As soon as I made it to the path I saw the plane sitting in the water about 40 feet off the bank.

I called back to ask for a ride because I knew my feet were going to get wet at least. Boy was I wrong. I had left my cell phone on the bank with the radio and my shoes, rolled my pant legs up to the knees and went in. The bottom is soft and the water is fairly clear. About 10 feet from the bank and I was up to my thighs so I knew I was screwed. At about 20 feet from the bank the bottom drops out and I was swimming. Grabbed the plane and held it over my head swimming back servos glitching the whole way.

Rode in the back of Life is good flying's SUV back to 3O.

I believe the Spektrum RX does not like the unfiltered 900 mhz Tx that close and greatly reduced my range. I believe all the components will be ok after a few days in a bag of rice but we will see.

The FPV experts need to chime in and tell me why my setup failed at such a short range. My A9 Rx have never had this problem.

Oh well, gear is back and hopefully good. If I start bleeding from the eyes I'll head to medical for some shots.
For all of you guys who couldnt make it, it was such a beautiful day to fly which im sure you knew that if you went outside. Wind was so perfect and i got to try out my new motor for my zagi which runs perfect and now its faster. Yes today i was a volunteer transportation vehicle for mike lol. Dave's blue plane is absolutely beautiful in the air all by itself. Hope next saturday is as nice as today was.

This is the FPV video I was talking about. Guy makes a pit-stop on the way back. Makes me really appreciate how hard this is when I'm swimming to get my plane flying less than half mile away.

It's a UHF system like the one dragon link sells. A HAM license is required.

Thomas scherrer makes a good one as well, that's what I use on my radian and my Next Level quad. Been able to push both of them to 2.5 miles without any problems.

Heres the stuff They use and sell. You need a Ham license to do fpv but with that said Most of the equipment that we use is not necessarily fcc certified.

These pics should be labeled, "Mike on tour with the Grateful Dead".

If weather holds, I'll be out at 3O on Saturday.
