hitec 535 quits??

Okay, so I get to the field yesterday to do some flying. I pull out the
gasbag (wood res ship, nothing fancy) and the Tx and Rx don't seem to be
talking to each other. 8103 is set on PPM. Hitec 535 with correct Xtal.
Nothing when I move the sticks. The servos would move each time that I would
flip on the Tx but they would not respond to stick input. I took it all
home and verified the Tx against a different Hitec Rx with the suspect Xtals
and everthing worked fine. It would seem like the 535 just quit. Has anyone
had this happen before. This Rx has been perfectly fine for several years,
no crashes or rough treatment.

Signed,
Confused.

Actually, no. I've not had nor heard of it happening. Even after years of
combat abuse I've never had it happen to me.

A Hitec technician that I spoke with 8 years ago indicated that the 535 is
not very "hearty". He suggested that my abusive use would be hard on them
and that I should begin to replace any that I had.

Naturally, I didn't. So far they still work fine.

The older receivers can drift out of tune over time. More than likely this is all that has happened and would be easy to retune if you sent it in to us.
