Beep - beep - beep - beep - beep?

A United Hobbies Mag 8 25 Amp that controlled a 2409-12 brushless at 6 volts.

It is beeping and not turning.

TX is a VEX on 89 and the ESC is on RX channel 2 for a boat.

Can someone tell me what the beeps mean?

Dah dit dah dit Da da dit dah.

I wonder what the LVC is set at - if it is set at higher than 6v the ESC won't be able to run the system at only 6v.

Are you sure the ESC is meant to be plugged into Ch 2 on the Rx - normally Ch 3 is the throttle channel.

A couple more possibilities:
1) Because the throttle channel is reversed, low throttle stick generates high channel level, which switches the ESC into the programming mode.
Try reversing the throttle channel in your TX.

2) The ESC either doesn't have a BEC or the BEC is damaged, so, the receiver doesn't get power from the ESC and the ESC can't sense valid channel pulses (because the RX isn't powered!).
Try powering the RX with a small battery or try driving the ESC with a servo tester.

Good luck!

It's a boat, Doc. (hey...that was a funny!)

Ennyways ( ) ch 2 would be the esc with channel one for the steering servo.

I have a stupid question, does the steering servo respond?

The only boats I know anything about are Maine skiffs, ocean kayaks (see my avatar - the mahogany one I built some years ago), sail boats (though my Kiwis lost the Americas Cup) and Boston Whalers. I've never seen an RC boat.

Here's the video boat:

Steering is achieved by rotating the prop tower with a modded TS-80 high torque continuous servo.

I designed a simple clutch to prevent burnout.

There is a pair of 6 Volt 5 AH SLA batteries.

The receiver goes directly to 6 Volts.

I can run the motor on either 6 or 12.

Today the servo works fine. A little jitter but I can adjust the TX limit, etc to get it fairly still. I tried caps and a few other ideas but I could not eliminate jitter.

The motor only ticks only a fraction of a second.

Suggestions?
