Actually I only know to Fly 3D, where you really can "mess around" with the planes without stallin' or "spiralin in". I just bought the TC 450 because it's such a beauty and although I don't need another plane I *had* to get her! But I'm afraid I'm not used to such "normal" planes. So reading the above I'm a bit afraid now and I have a stupid or a newbie question, it's a bit OT as well - sorry.
Thanks a lot for your hints - I don't want to loose this beauty! regards, Wolfgang |

Wolfgang,
The Taylorcraft is stable and such a good flyer if you assemble it as suggested and balance it correctly you will have no problems. It is very aerobatic but can be slowed to a crawl for landing if you keep a bit of power on. If you fly 3D just remember this is not a foamy and keep ahead of the plane. Gary |

I'm used to fly my Katana MD and the Addiction (don't like the look of foam *g*) and so I made sure that my Taylor has at least a "burst ratio" of 1,5 of the AWD in order to rescue it form attacks of killer trees and other unfriendly things around I'm very curious about the maiden of the TC, maybe next weekend! regards, Wolfgang |

Successful Maiden!
Well, I couldn't resist! Saw one on the shelf at the LHS and came home with it. A couple of evenings for assembly which was pretty straight forward and without any issues. I set it up with the Eflite 480 1020 Kv motor 40A ESC and TP 3s 2100 mAh battery.
It was a little windy at our field today (winds 8 mph with some gusts) and certainly a little windier than I normally like for a maiden. Anyway, couldn't resist and off she went. What a beautifully flying plane! Trimmed out nicely and flew on rails. I think I'll experiment with the CG a little, but at 60mm from the leading edge, it was fine. Sorry, no inflight pic's or video, but here are the after the "Maiden Happy Pic's" |

Decal PaperQuote:
It worked great. Be sure to use the clear and not the white decal paper for this application. |
