Hi there DC
Thanks for the good wishes and glad you like the paint job.
I just about have it all repaired now but it was a job to say the least.
Will try to fly in the morning if the wind isn't too bad.
I will still want to build another one though.
I really like this plane.

Repair of Ultron

Got the Ultron all repaired and flew it 2 times this morning with great success.
It is a little heavier now with the addition of all the hot glue to repair but still fly's
great.I still intend to make another one and try for a lighter build.
Thanks again for the plans.

Got the new Ultron almost finished and it's a good thing because i crashed the old
one and decided to use the parts for the new one. The new one is somewhat lighter
so i am anxious to fly her and see the difference.
14below zero right now so i doubt that i will fly her today.

my Ultron

Mitja,

Thank you for posting your plans. I just found this thread last week and it had to be built.

I haven't flown it yet, too windy, but it looks like a winner to me.

Here are the specs:

58" wingspan
44 oz. weight
emax 2826/05 with 13x8 apc making 82oz. of thrust
dollar tree foam with paper removed and ultrakote covering.

The plane went together really easily and looks good, I am new to using covering so my skills aren't that great yet, but no one sees flaws when it is flying.

Ultron 3d live here
Thanks Mitja for plan

@planebreaker2000

how have you done to "enlarge" the Mitja's plan to buil a 58'' wingspan?

I downloaded the pdf A4 plans and for now I'm building a "standard" format (98 cm-38'') but I'm interested to build another one with more wingspan.

Thanks

I should probably add that I put a larger motor on it and flies like it is on rails. I put an eflight power 46 with 4 cell battery and a 14x7 prop

Wahooo! Perfect flyer! Thank you Mitja. My first wing (84cm....40 per wing + 4 cm wide fuselage) was built strictly as shown on the plan. The indoor flight is very easy with reduced aileron's debatment. A bit of weakness aroud the tail of the fuselage
I start a second one with some mods: more stiff in front of the tail; a real airfoil (clark y) for the full wing from LE to TE.
The third one will be an Ultron Toon, for fun
