Did you at least fix your battery connections?? That may have been the issue...LOL
On a serious note... when you repainted her did you mistakenly get over spray on the connectors?? I did that to the A-10 and had to scrap the paint off the Deans to get a good connection and get full power.... |

You are right, I've got the mirage also, and with the same stock components the F-18 is a much much better performer. I found that using a 2100 battery pack and a 36 amp tbird speed control upped the performance a good amount, the stock battery was limiting the performance, and so was the speed control, allowed 2-3 more amps to be drawn at least. If you use a light receiver, like a berg or 6100 you save a bit of weight and the little heavier 2100 is compensated for by the thrust increase.

Yea... I popped my TP 1320 today in the f-18, I put it on the watt meter and I should have know 240'ish watts means 24-26 amps I wasn't thinking and figured it came with a cheapo 1300 my TP 1320 would work.... nope I landed the plane when I felt a loss in power lol. Also I flew the stock battery to cut off twise today (not on purpose I only get 4 mins but I forget about my left thumb) with a ar7000 rx, no problem with the binding thing some have talked about.

But honestly Sir Ronnie, I think your photography skillz just keep getting better and better and better. If I were you, I'd sell all of your RC stuff for pennies on the dollar (to me of course!) and buy that big lens you've been yearning for! Mike, you and Ronnie make one dynamic duo on these reviews for sure. I some day aspire to achieve the quality and content you Texans put into your reviews here. Very nice review guys ... this plane has been on my "I want IT!" radar since it appeared and this certainly doesn't help foster any thoughts of restraint in me, : next time I see one on the shelf at my LHS! |

So I was flying my mirage and ME 262 this morning in Oregon in now wind but light snow flurries, and as I was getting ready to take off in the mirage after I preflighted control directions, I saw something hanging down, turns out one of the snap-keepers I have on my aileron wires had come off while taxiing out, and was hanging down, I have now taped all of the snap-keepers to avoid that in the future, lucky that it was hanging down on the side I could see, would have been a short flight
Point is, I tried the vertical tail slide like in the F-18 video, and the mirage will do the exact same thing, sometimes it would flop completely around horizontal and I would just power out, sometimes it would flop and wind up inverted. Frank |
