Trex 450 SE V2 Rudder Servo & Gyro

Hey Evahbody!

I have a nice little under boom mount for my GY 401 Gyro and my tail servo is a Futaba S9650. Now, my question focuses on the servo. Should I mount it near the tail box or close to the boom mount? Any decided advantage either way. In theory, I would guess it would be advantageous to get most of the weight near the CG. Would that be the correct assumption?
Thank you muchly

put the servo as close as you can on the left side (looking from the back of the heli) to the mount as you can. too far back will result in bad CG. some v2s are fairly tail heavy even with battery in the front. no advantages in performance other than weight.

Thanks for the comeback, I'll get her as close to the boom support as possible and as straight as possible to the tail feathers. I take it the under boom mount would be a good choice for the Gyro.

yes under the boom is excellent to protect the flybar from hitting the gyro during a crash, i myself have gone through 2 gyros in 2 days, woops

remember, tail servo on the left if looking from behind the heli.
