You Know Your Addicted To RC heli's When...

I thought this would be really fun. In an airsoft forum some of the guys started a thread with lists of hundreds of reason's you know your addicted to RC heli's.

It doesn'nt have to make a lot of sense, just creative and funny.

Here are a few to start with.

1...Care more about heli's than your children.
2...Convert all the connectors in your house to deans.
3...Sleep with your heli next to you.
4...The heli hits you 50in Bravia, oh well as long as my heli's alright.
5...Track the blades on your ceiling fan.
6...Get paranoid because your ceiling fan has vibrations.
7...Climb onto your UPS drivers truck to get your parts.
8...Consistantly check package tracking for your parts.
9...Post in rcgroups.

Well Get At It!!!

Ready For Your Fly!
My wife is always giving me a hard time that I am either on RCGroups or fiddling with my helis, while she waits in bed for me.
Now that is addiction! Or I am just stupid...............

- When you talk to them. "That was a nice flight. Let's go charge that battery again" or "What was that about? I gave you plenty of right stick to get by that tree!" < Me

- When you sit your just-completed project heli that you control with your $200 TX on top of your dark, no-cable-having TV. < Me

- You actually have a pang of guilt when removing your only RX from your beloved Honeybee to use in your MX400 < Me

- You follow lost heli threads (did enzothecat ever fish his 'Rex out of the pond?) like an addictive reality show. < Me

- You actually find other uses for a pinion-puller and a pitch gauge. < Not yet, but I'm looking...

- You actually almost really quit smoking to afford parts (thank goodness I got better with the heli and don't crash as much - I just switched to a cheaper brand of cigs) after failing hundreds of times before.

All true, all me. I've only had a heli since last March. It started with a Picco/Havoc...

Some more:

- If the following makes sense: I just put a BL and an ESC with a UBEC in my BCP.

- You sneak your heli into work at risk of serious trouble so you can check the AUW on the digital scales. < Me

- You look for "C" ratings on EVERY battery you come across...

- You resurrect a cordless drill whose charger has been lost for years by figuring out how to charge it on your field charger. < Me

Finally...

- "Full-Size Model" means a real helicopter, not a fat chick in a pretty dress.

And yes, I check the tracking on every fan I see.

Old pic, so it does not have many of the new ones, but I think this is a pretty good indication of our addiction...

Workshop mostly. That was my brother's basement, and we went there every Wednesday to fix what we broke the weekend before.
He had an airstrip in the back groomed enough to play marbles on (ok, a bit of an exaggeration) He has landscaping equipment.
Then the big D came along and he had to sell. I still swear at his Ex every time I drive by his old house.
Here are some more pics of the old work area.

Too dumb to upload an avatar.

That's me! I totally tracked the blades when I got a new ceiling fan. And I almost brought my blades to work to measure on the scale, but it's only good to .1 oz which isn't accurate enough.

12. Notice that they used a deans connector on one of the super hero gadets episode of Mythbusters.

13. You resort to using the the street light outside because flying inside would wake up sleeping family...at 2AM...because the wind finally died down.

Yea the Mythbusters are my favorite. I also happen to count the spin down time of the ceiling fan, and imagine the possibilities of an auto.

The big D...sigh...my old house would have been heli paradise,3.2 acres out back on the edge of steep hill where most of the wind went right over top,I wasn't into helis then but man now that I think about it and the workshop I had...make this a very sad # 14...
