Big Ceres Electric Ready to fly!

My Big Ceres is ready to fly!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well Dave Hauch finished my Big Ceres E and after a little set up by me she is ready to maiden. She is AUW at 137 oz (8.56 LBS). I am running a Nue 1512 1.5D CC125 Nue 4s 4900 LiPo and 18X16 RFM prop to start. It calc's out at 340 oz thrust, 141 amps, 92 MPH prop speed. I will probably move to the 18X19 RFM after getting used to her manorisms. That will bump the thrust to 386 oz 163 amps and 107 prop speed. May upgrade later to a CC180 so I don't have to worry about burning up the speed controller. Also it may be possible to fit the Nue 5s 4100 30/60C lipo wich will bump the 18X16 set-up to 441 LBS thrust 105 prop speed 186 amps. Only had to add 4.5 oz lead to get the cg at 43% cord. Lots of possibilities, I can't wait to try them out. Oh yeah, I used JR 3421"s on flaps! Dave is a great builder. He has built 7 planes for me this year. Usually a couple clicks of sub trim and she's ready to fly. Thanks Dave. You can check his website here. http://www.rc-builds.com/

You should cross post this in the electric sailplanes forum. What is your wingloading at at that weight?
