B40 14L???? How will this perform in my eco..?

I got this motor by accident and was wondering if the motor gurus can tell me if it is acceptable for my eco 8. What kind of power? How many cells? Which pinion? I have not been studying enough on the specifics of brushless motors.

Thanks in advance

The motors Kv is 2143 according to Hacker, seems like a 12-14 tooth gear would be what you need depending on cell count.

A man with too many toys

The Hacker B40-14L is an excellent choice for the ECO 8. Hear are my pinion recommendations.

7-cells, 18t pinion
8-cells, 15t pinion
10-cells, 12t pinion

I have both the B50-19S and the B50-14L. Your motor will perform fantastically. It will run a little hotter than the 50 series but is also 50 g lighter. I suggest everything from a 13 to a 16t pinion. Watch the temp using the 16T. On cooler days youll have no problem.

Check out Tohru Shimizu's web site for performance of this and other motors in the eco.
