Pictures of sky scooter Twin....FINALLY

Well i do not know how many were folowing this thread but hereare some photosof the scooter Twin.I have had 2 test flights with this so far. One ended very abruptly when a props flew off. After the second test flight i founmd out i could have just keptthe motors running and brought it back around for a landing as on the second test flight I lost a pinion on one of the Motors and i flew two More circuts before landing I was wondering why it began to pull to the right but did not figure it out until i saw the Pinion was not there. I did not think this would fly on Just ONE motor. Anyways here are some Photos I will get some close ups of how the motors are attached tommorow......Hopefully.

You guys did toughen up the wing, right? Reason being is that the scooter's wing is weak just about a 1/2 inch or so from each side of the fuse. This is the point where mine developed a crack.
It is since epoxied and taped. And this is with the scooter running a geared 280 motor.

Luckyarmpit & Kushal:

You may want to do more to strengthen the wing. Check out this thread.

I've spruce sparred one SS wing (broke twice after repair with hot glue and toothpicks). My modified BL SS has a carbon fiber arrow spar.

I would poke a hole through the fuselage and use a single spar. If you can't do that, they should at least overlap inside the fuse and be bonded together.

Good luck,

I did that on one of my scooters But the spar did not sit flatnear the root of the wing(With the single spare runnuning through.) I may have to finda piece of metal that i can slip inside the carbon rod and bend that accordingly so everything will lay flat.

I reinforced a Sky Scooter wing by poking a hole where the leading edge meets the fuselage, then running a strip of 1/4" carbon fiber tape through the hole and gluing it to the leading edge of each wing. The wing had previously cracked at the leading edge on either side of the fuselage, and cracked again after a glue repair. The carbon fiber tape stopped the cracks, even when I pulled the 400 out and put in a 480 and a 7 cell 1250SCR nicad.

The top of the wing is normal. So how did I get a straight carbon arrow to fit the dihedral of the wing? I gently heated the carbon fiber arrow until it weakened just enough to bend. As it cooled it harded back up. But in retrospect I wish I had used the stiffness of the spar to pull some of the dihedral out.

I plan on flat bottoming the wing that is why I have the balsa around the perimeter. I just wish I had time to finish it and my TJ and my new MSW, and my kids Push e-cat.
