Data

Data Logged my puffed DN Power 2150's last night...

I have been continuing to fly regardless of the fact that my CHEAP (By cheap I mean crappy) DN Power batteries are puffed. Below is a graphical analysis of how they sag from the get go.

BTW I ordered new batts this A.M. from our buddies at Maxamps!!! + the 3 yr warranty for 11 bones.

For me the 3S 2150mAh 15C absolutely suck.

My third one is starting to puff after only twenty cycles. The previous two have already been turned-in for disposal due to puffing and not giving the current. I adhered to safe and conservative LiPo guidelines. I never pulled more than 20A off these batteries and never dropped them below 11V.

DN Power: If the battery won't do 15C, don't put "15C" on the battery.

My LHS even had them starting to puff in the case..."brand new".

flynz4me if you go to our website and look in the alley you'll find an album with discharge graphs in it. A few are on the 2100's in different set-ups from my 216 watt t-38 to Tony's TREX 450 and his 300 Extra. It's a great collection that we will be adding to.

No flippin' joke man, I have the "20c" packs 2150mah. Maybe Jun at XUS meant 02c, then I would have thrown them in my DX7, wait they still would have puffed!!

Your best bet would be to google the terms. Try Discharge graphs for FP and TP.

Does the puffing of the DN batteries mean anything?

Well yeah it means that the chemistry has been stressed and the chemicals are out gassing inside the cell bags. I have experienced loss of power as well, aka the voltage sags immediately even after a fresh charge... If you want budget lipos go to www.hobbycity.com They have great deals on lipos and seem to hold up well...

Amazingly well, I bought the 3 year warranty on them and other than a slight mishap with the balancer tap layout vs what I ordered they absolutely rock!!! My TREX couldn't hurt them and my Extra is flying both and it is really happy too!!!

It means they are probably vislero cells of the same batch that xcite battery had. Check out this thread for some info. Xcite did a recall on them as they all puffed. It didn't matter what you did. I did break in cycles at 2A discharge and they puffed. Bad batch due to cheap materials used. They should be replaced.

Or try the battery vault. Search that in the battery section. I always thought it was a sticky, but then I came here and couldn't find it.
