Piper Pa-8 Skycycle

I am getting ready to start building a 1/4 scale (60" span)example of this very obscure airplane.(Vintage R/C plans, precision cut kits laser cut parts.)
I am looking for any scale documentation that might be available on this aircraft.Since there was only 1 Full scale PA-8 built, photo's and documentation are scarce .I am specifically looking for instrument panel/cockpit detail. Also main gear/tail wheel detail. Any help by anyone with anything on this aircraft would be MUCH appreciated!

Carlson Aircraft here: http://www.sky-tek.com/nx47y.html
lists a complete set of PA-8 documentation.(Bottom of price list)I called them, and it has yet to be completed.Maybe if enough people called them requesting the documents they would "GIT R DONE"!

The Skycycle was featured in some of the magazines such as Air Trails back in the late 1940s. The AMA library might be able to help you with your search. Call Rich LaGrange at AMA - or better yet, get out of the elevator connecting downtown Oregon City to uptown Oregon City and go there yourself!

Hey Geoff! I have been keeping my eyes open for old magazines on Ebay that feature the Skycycle.I am going to try the EAA for some help as well. Not a lot out there on this little bird!

Full Size Plans http://www.fullsizeplans.com/ published a plan of a rubber powered design just recently. I was considering a direct conversion for a small electric and micro gear for this one.

I have plans for the Skycycle with drawings by Wylam (for free). Just e-mail me at rcarswellsr@att.net and mention "plans for Piper Skycycle". The plans are in a high-resolution .PDF file which can be re-scaled and tile-printed using the program TilePrint available from http://www.blackflight.com/tileprint/ for $16 (US).

Back in the 1990s Model Aviation (I think!) featured the Skycycle c/w photos and 3-views. Try a mail to them and maybe get a back issue.
