Use a Minwax polycryl. I seal all my foam planes that I paint in it so I don't loose paint due to hanger rash. When I repaint the Seawind I will be sealing it in the same stuff.

I want to say that the thread is a 4-40 but I will have to take it apart to find out for sure and I really don't want to do that, but I will if the walk to your shed is 6 miles up hill in the snow. LOL!

Conehead,

Check post # 730. I have had good luck with Valspar water based polyurethane varnish which is very light and dries very fast.

Thanks, I checked the post. Ok, now I know what to do.

My shed is about 20 feet from the door and the snow is not too deep right now. I will have to get some of the scotch stuff also.

Frozen participation that falls during our winter. We got lots, I would send you some by they the time it gets Down Under, it would have all melted.

I live just 35 feet from a big lake and I want something to fly in the summer off the water. So with winter coming, well it is here, but officially it won't really be here for a few more days, (shortest day of the year) I will be able to fly off the snow and land on it. Once the lake gets frozen over and will support this fat man, ( you know he is coming) I will walk out on the lake and fly off the snow on top of the ice.

Of course we have people who go out and sit on the ice and fish through the holes they make in the ice.

SOP you are only just a few miles short of 10,000 miles from me. That is a long way if RCGoups is right.

SOP,
What I want to know is how do you get that kangaroo to drink that ale or beer or whatever it is?
I used to drink like that, but now I can't.

I used Gorilla Glue on my Seawind. Wanted to try it out. So I hope I didn't muck things up. So far everything looks good. I still have to do the stab and the vertical fin. I think I will use epoxy on those.

I used Gorilla Glue to build my whole plane. I use it anytime foam is used. I will grab it before the epoxy unless I am in a hurry like when I am at the field. So relax, the GG is all good and you Seawind will be just fine.

Flying 3 mistakes high

Started on the Seawind last night. First thing was to do something about the silly motor mount. Found some ideas on this thread about the motor mount and made a ply plate with four holes.
Plan to use a UH KDA-20-20L motor.

I'd be interested in the angle ( up or down ) of the stock motor mount. I cut my mount off to mount another motor. My initial flight seemed to show to much down thrust... I had put a bit of up angle on the new motor...

I have now changed that angle to a bit downward, but wonder what the original mount shows. thanks, Rich
