Amp draw on the stock setup is 26-27 amps @ WOT initially and then tapers to about 23 amps when using a 25C 3cell lipo.

I used Testors spray paint don't use anything else (and give it light coats), I tried several methods on a test piece of foam, the problem is that once you paint the foam if you tape over it to get a sharp edge the tape pulls off the paint underneath. Its easy to get sharp edges on the wings and stabs cause they are not foam. I read in one thread that someone used post-it's since they were not as sticky... I just painted the plane from the front to the back. I taped off the front area and gave it gray, then used paper to cut a hard edge from the grey to the yellow. I free handed the stripes with the black, they are not sharp and have a soft edge. Not to good looking up close but when its in the air it looks great.

If I had to do it again I would paint the plane in tones of grey and then, do something contrasting on the underside... Regardless a nice repainting gives it a nice scale look in the air...

A guy at the hobby store was telling me that many people were coating over the Styrofoam on their f-16's with fiberglass cloth... are there any build threads which show the best way to go about doing this modification?

Model Masters spray work as good or better and is closer to military colors, especially the flat kinds.

Using an air brush is better though. When doing paint schemes with spray paint cans, I use computer paper to mask off the area I dont want painted. For special designs, draw and then cut out the design on the paper and then place it on the plane to paint. You can keep it secured using low mask painters tape(you take it off the spool and stick it to your hand or arm first to get rid of some of the adhesion). It wont take off the paint now.

I'm getting 27 amps wot on a fresh pack as well.

If staying on the stock power system I'd not fiberglass. To much weight. I painted mine with acrylics and then covered with a very thing clear coat to protect the paint. It's been working well for me.

Did you hand paint it on or did you spray it, what brand of paint? Looks very nice, mine is similar... however my stripes are not crisp... used spray paint so it has overspray fuzz

Dont use anything else? Kinda misleading...Ive always used Tamiya.. great on foam.....Ive had the testors eat through a foam project once....never went back. As far as fiberglass...that'll be over kill for the stock set...unnecessary weight even for my set up....over 100+mph

Its a show stopper at the fields I fly at...
