its not underpropped with the motor at this kv level on 6s.

you could probably get away with the 12x10 on 5s but on 6s you would be way over the rating of the motor.

Yes, that makes sense.

Have you gotten any good top speed readings? I'm looking for a fast plane, faster the better. I can always throttle back, but I hate it when I want more knots and I'm already WOT.

Have been looking at one for a while - Would a FP 5s 3700 25s be ok for this plane ? Not going with the Rimfire ( not really available in Oz ) so will be looking at a Duelsky X 1100 Kv motor for power. Thoughts ?

Bing ... I have run both the DS 4260-5 and 4260-6 on 5S. The 4260-5 will turn a 12x10 really fast on 5S, you will need an 80A ESC to be safe unless you have good throttle management. I think it will pull about 70A-75A. A 12x8 will be much easier on the motor and system, a 10x10 is not bad according to teh DS motor calc which is pretty accurate for their motors.

The 4260-6 will happily turn a 14x7 so I guess a 13x8 or even 13x10 would be decent on that motor. It will pull around 55A.

Mine will be going up on the DS 4260-5 first on a 5S 4,900 mAh pack, with a 12x10. I want to see the potential of this plane. After that may test her out with a Plettenberg Orbit 25-18 that I have sitting about doing nothing.

So what happened here, is not one flying this plane?
I just got mine a few days ago and putting it together now. Going with Turnigy 4248 800KV motor on 6 setup and 11x5 APC prop. Just tested the setup on the watt meeter and I'm getting 1600 watts at 77amps and 21.5 volts. It is a bit scary to be next to in on the ground, I wonder if the motor is better to be used on 5 cell. Hope it will fly wll.

What is the best way to level both elevators to be on the same level, just by eye?

Would you suggest to draw UBEC power from main battery or it is better to put a 800Mah 10C 2 cell for that?

Vasy, Mate i think we need some pix and vid to get people inspired again ! To answer your qs, Best way to level both elevators " just by eye " is to use tape and tape them both in the level position prior to joining them ( if that the build sequence ) and if your using more that 4 servos, a BEC is always a good idea. Keep us posted

I do have stand alone BEC, but I wonder if it should be powered by a stand alone battery or from the main receiver pack.
I have a 2cell 800Mah battery, will it be enough to power the 4, analog servos for 1 or 2 flight?

I have been running Turnigy and DualSky ESCs on my planes, no issues with the built in UBEC. They work fine with 5S and 4 servos. So far so good.

I don't want to take this rick, had a few ESC fry and ubec helped me control the plane.
The ubec is not the issue, I just wonder if 2S 800mah will be enought to power it for 5-6 minutes. It should be no problems from the looks of it. I don't think draw will go over 3 amps and that battery should have no issues delivering the power.

Vasy ... F3A guys who fly pattern use just under 200 mAh for their 8 mins schedule. But that is smooth flying with minimal throws. So I guess it depends how hard you fly. Try 1 flight then charge and see ...

Took it today for the maiden flight.
All went well, had to add a little up elevator and she was all good to go.
It does take a while to slow her down on landings, just seems to want to glide forever. I flew it with 2500mah 40C 6 cell, (two 3 cells) got about 4 minutes of flight and was about 50% drained. Happy for the 1st flight, will try some tricks next time around.
She is a pleasure to fly, didn't seem to bite in any way.

You should get a video up ASAP. I had the last piece of the Revolver and my pal who dorked his 'stole' it from me. So I will not know how she flies, hope to test out his plane.

Had a few more flights on it, some how the spinner became unbalanced and bent my motor shaft. Fixed that, ditched the stock spinner and keep of flying.
Had a slightly hard landing and the rear mount for the tail wheel broke off. Seems like a flimsy way of mounting it or anything but perfect landings.
So far like the plane, will try to get more finesse in handling the bird.
it does glide forever and for now landings are LONG..... will have to work on that. You can for sure dead-stick her like nothing.

So the joy came to a sadden end, when an aileron clevis broke off at the base and ended plane's life. It was on the final approach, so I'm really not sure how the heck could it have just failed.
The wings are still fine, but the fuselage is in ruins.

I'm thinking of getting the new 70 inch version of this plane, but I'm gong with aftermarket hardware (crapware) accessories.

Getting mine soon, will be putting the os 55 in it. What a great motor, just broke one in on a kaos, wicked fast. Can't wait to Get my revolver!
