It already has a spar :-D, but it could do with an airfoil. 5mm depron does flex with this wingspan

I used elmers foam board for my f-22 and the wings feel super strong. They don't bend at all. Should I add one just to keep moisture from warping them?

Do you mean add a spar, or add a KF airfoil?

If spar, I always recommend adding a spar, not matter how stiff the foam feels. You be surprised at the amount of stress you can put on this airframe.

If KF, I say it doesn't need it. Some guys say it flies better, I say it flies just fine without.

Oh, and next time you use Elmers, I suggest soaking the paper and removing it. Because as you say, if it gets wet it may warp.

I went out today without wind it was so boring...
I am using a emax 2805 2840kv with a 4.75x4.75 and 3s. I should have a good speed with this config
The plane is only 80% scale but I think the prop is too small and it is hide by the profil of the plane

The profile shouldn't be "hiding" the prop, even on the smaller size. The one in my avatar is about 65% of this one, and I use a GWS 4.5x3 prop and it works just fine.

Are you sure the prop is on correctly (front of the prop facing the front of the plane)?

Yes checked the video. It was done with a old battery
F22 depron... (2 min 48 sec)

I need maybe another prop with less pitch to get more trust

I just check with drive calculator
With the APC 4.75x4.75 I have 380gr 140km/h and 19A
With the GWS 5x4.3 I have 653gr 140km/h and only 16A
3A less for 300gr trust more...nice

Pat,

I've got your motor (the suppo 2212-06 2200 kv) in the FF-117. Goes fantastic on a 2200mah 3S! Motor temp is 50 Celcius, and battery about 37. Forgot to measure the ESC, but was handwarm on all flights
On a 6x4 APC prop it does 115 km/h, yet more than 10 minutes of flying time.

I couldn't be happier!

Video (if that's okay in the F-22 thread...)
Taking the FF-117 parkjet for a spin. (3 min 1 sec)

Yep, I tried the no spar version. Everything was great and after about 10-12 hard flights the wing totally gave pulling out of a 5G dive. Got a total of 10-12 flights on that one, I would always use something to keep wing flex under control!

Also Vids of foam F117s are always ok!

Nice. Where are the plans or build thread for the 117? I feel the need.

So I try the gws5x4.3. I do not see a difference but the esc has cut two times.
I will check the amp draws with the apc4.75x4.75 and the gws 5x4.3

F22 depron with a Emax2805 on 3S and GWS5x4.3 (2 min 40 sec)

Gravity Sucks
Hi Cid156,
I've not used the emax motor, but isn't it a 2S motor? Check the picture below - you might be using too many V's and pulling too many A's for this motor....

2S and 12-14 A (<60 sec) recommended. Not sure on the reliability of those specs though, so if you have a better source of info for the motor maybe follow that, but just a thought!

Cheers,
ResQ
