If you get the bigger sheets from rc foam you can make the wing in one piece , they are a little narrower than the plane so you loose about a inch of wing span , but the 4 ive made all fly fine this size , i hate seaming sheets together .....
No. 4 has rudders and i think its worth the little extra work it takes to put them on , # 3 was 13 oz and # 4 is 13.9 oz , does some pretty quick snap rolls and other weird stuff with them , also helps in high alpha flight ...
I made the one flow by the bigger guy in the video above ...

Or you can turn the template sideways for the full wing, and cut the nose section separately. Once the nose and wing are joined, the intake sides and fuse pieces provide enough strength to hold everything together.

That's what I did; my seam is just forward of the wing break and is supported by the 'fuselage'. It looks like I may have added two little pieces to the tips as my ws is 28".

Ordered the power set up yesterday from headsuprc.

Motor - Power Up 400 Zoom
ESC --- HURC 40A ESC
Prop -- EMP 6x4E

Will power up with my 11.1 v 2100 Lipo battery.

What say all of you on my first Build. Will paint them SOME WHAT LIKE THE [BLUE ANGLES].

On the above Scratch Built planes out of 1/2.
Do you need to bevel the TRAILING EDGE of the control surfaces? Or can you leave them
squared off ?
Yes, I am beveling all of the LEADING EDGES.

Thanks

You actually don't need to round any edges, but if you do, just do the leading edges and don't worry about the trailing.

I know this is a very large thread, but there are several posts about using EDF and where they were mounted. You just need to search the thread.

Like Pat said, there's no need to make things aerodynamic. Its a flying plank after all and even at scale it's not busting the sound barrier. I have shaped the leading edges because it looks better but the trailing edges (tailerons, ailerons and rudders) are all blunt.

I am now wondering if I have made the Aile. too narrow. I made them about 1 1/4. Everupme else looks like the have made theirs about 1 1/2to 1 3/4.
What say you all

I say since it flies fine without ailerons at all, leave them be. Some is better than none, even though none is required.

I did originally, I think it was a 2205-32. But once I found the 2212-6 I never went back to anything else.

EDIT - Yep, here was my oiginal post with my setup. Flew good with this, but flies better with the 2212-6.
