Ok, got a new one to maiden this weekend. Many posts back someone was dissin' "accessories" that add extra weight. I added a few accessories that I think you will like. I will post pics prior to the maiden.

Final AUW weight is 460g/16.23oz on the 28" ws. This keeps it within the manageable range on 3s 1550mah with a 2212-6 and 6x4 prop, right?

Absolutely. That setup will give you about 24oz of thrust.

On second thought...

...I may not maiden tomorrow. It is wet and soggy. She deserves better than a mud puddle.

More pics in my blog if you are interested.

In the 2nd pic I am trying to show the plane stand that I built using scraps of depron. It allows you to support the plane by it's wings while you work on it. It has been really helpful in keeping the dents out of the foam and protects the fuselage since it hangs down in the middle. I put the f22's vertical stabilizers on last since they tend to get in the way the most. The stand is about 12" tall. It comes apart for storage. I would love to share the "plans", but I don't know how to scale it up.

This material is not Depron or foamy, they call it EVA it is one kind of high density sponge !

You guys have some great looking raptors! Here's my frankenstein!!! This is my prototype with the works. It's an 18.5" WS version with rudders, landing gear, KFm4 airfoil, and a "yaw" thrust tab. My next build will be slightly larger with everything except the yaw thrust tab as I don't think it is that effective. Yes she is a little heavy at 8oz., but I love the way she flies. The LG and rudders only add to the fun. I also used hot glue on the build and I did not use it sparingly -- so I have a lot of weight to shed. Below is an amusing clip from a few days ago...I have renamed my "raptor" the "phoenix" -- I'm sure you guys can figure out why!

Here is a link to some videos (very poor quality) of the LED afterburners, intake glow, and wingtip and nose lights.

VERY, VERY nice Bombay! Well done!

You should make another with the scale look... some-one did a scale F-22 about 10 or so pages ago. Your lighting system and colour scheme on a scale looking fuse would look fantastic!
