an on-road car is designed for asphal or other smooth surfaces. even if u can raise the ground clearance and install offroad tires, the drive-train and suspension components wont stand up to the roughness exposed in offroad conditions. u're really better off buying a buggy or truck instead

Id say its possible but for the effort id say its really not worth it unless your like me and the thought of something you made, that no one else has, is motivation for doing it. but basically this is how id do this:
1. longer wishbones
2. big, aluminum shock towers
3. longer shocks
4. Gear down, and big up the tires (keeps the final drive ratio the same but gives allot more ground clearance)
5. beef up parts that are going to take punishment. you'll find out what needs to be aluminum when it breaks.

if you decide to do this, keep us updated, cz it sounds interesting.
