I saw a picture of this heli a while ago but with no info. Planty of interesting info this time. Thanks for posting it. I thought it was much smaller lighter and untethered. do you know how much it cost?

I couldn't locate a price from what I translated from Japanese.

it says 36,800 yen on that site wich is about €300 ($300 too). a bit much for a non-rc chopper i think, but nontheless very cool...

Hirobo makes a tethered ($200) and RC ($265) version of the XRB. Here's a vendor that sells both:

I have the RC version. I've had lots of fun indoors flying it from room to room, down corridors, under tables, etc. It doesn't move fast enough for outdoors.

The Esky Lama:

flies almost as well (a friend of mine has one) and is only $100. From what I've read, the Blade CX2 ($189) is also comparable:

The Hirobo Sky Robo has one characteristic that the CX2 and Esky Lama don't. The Sky Robo's blades are styrofoam and break easily. If you hit something with them the blades disintegrate thereby sparing the main shaft and whatever you hit. I've hit myself with the Sky Robo's blades and it doesn't hurt at all. I consider the fragile blades ($5 / set) to be an advantage. I've
never had to replace anything on the head.
