Sterling B-17 rubber power model

Hi Guys

I got in the early 80's some Sterling rubber powered models, and i still have some today. One is a 39" B-17, i was thinking of using a 2s 740mah Vislero battery and 4 x small brushed motors called st2 and a esc, and 2 x 5gram servo's and a small rx.

Does anyone know if this has bee done, and are Sterling still around ?.

-=Sadly Sterling is no more but the kits are very collectable. see here:

The wood in the models has almost always been heavy and hard. You would do best to replace all the wood with your own hand picked balsa. As for anyone else doing this model check the scale forum for better advice. Lots of conversions there. Mostly guillows but there are really helpful folks that frequent that forum. The "up to date " auction prices on the Sterling collector's site are sadly not up to date. The B17 is highly sought after by a number of folks. It generally fetches a higher price than what is listed. You have a valuable treasure.
