ItzaUFO

Another in a series of crazy experiments. Gpw is to blame. Him and Rick, Tim, and a bunch of others who followed Glen's UFO thread. Anyway, this one is 18.75 inches in diameter, 9" tall (5 top and 4 bottom), has elevons, rudder, E-Flight 300 outrunner, 10/4.7 prop, CC TB-9, and a 2S 360 2DogRC LiPo. Flying weight is 5.5 ounces. Can't wait to wring it out in calm air outside.

Looks super. now needs some properly placed LEDs here and there to really set it off! especially at the very bottom so as to promote energy or radiation suggestion.

Very creative rudder! Tell us how effective it is!

Also, what paint did you use?

Gpw,

An investigation may be in order... I lived in Roswell back in the early 50s, and my little brother was born there.

WarrrEagle,

Rudder is effective enough to hover with confidence in the yaw control. I'll report more findings after I test the forward flight characteristics, hopefully today. Two paints used (ran out of 1st one)... "plast-kote" Odds n Ends (not recommended), and "KRYLON" Interior-Exterior ($3 and works GREAT!).

Willin,

LEDs planned, if test-flight AOK.

Gary,
Do you want to tell us about your "little brother" or
should we change the subject? ;-)

It was dark, windy, and bumpy, but I got to fly it. Better pictures tomorrow, I hope.

Dude, you owe me a plane!
{see picture below}

Well done, your best yet. IMO the rudder on the top only will make it more rudder/elevator friendly.

Now , a BIG one , lightly built ...would fly ever so much more realistically /slow...and be able to haul around a death Ray and separate battery...Luxon rebel LED... ... lots of perimeter LEDs...48"WS...1800+ sq.in. Hmmmmm???????

Wow that roll rate is really something!

On my last UFO I enlarged the elevons from GPW's, er, uh, the Government's, er, uh, the Alien's specs but I'm going bigger on the next as you have.

Nice flying!
