I used Multiplex floats with a Ernst #155 Water Rudder.

Ernst Rudder

Can you tell me how you hooked up the Ernst Rudder and the Multiplex Flotas to the Slowstick?

I use a flexible pushrod through a tube. The push rod is connected to the rudder servo. I am planning to detail the whole build soon.

I'm intersted in installing floats on my 2nd ssx also. Have you use 2 sets of xgear?

The first SSX on floats was built before X-Gear was available. I use two X-Gear now that X-Gear is available.

SSX on floats

I'm getting started on my water ssx. My flying field is about 15miles away, but there is a very nice lake 1mile from my house. I'm looking forward to some early morning, spring flying, right down the street. I went with a large 450 outrunner,so getting out of the water won't be a problem. I'm going to install a water rudder, and use a metal gear servo to control bolth rudders. thanks for the pick's J.

Hey Jim, Whee have you been? I never see you at the events anymore.

I just did a redesign on this kit.

The new design starts at page 107 of the original build thread.

Had to have back surgery and it made me worse. Can't do much anymore, especially setting up sales at an event. I have a power wheelchair, etc. I'm trying to find a surgeon that can fix me. I will get another two or three opinions and see if there is a concensus!

I still have a lot of product. I took down the Hurricane website. My r/c boats are holding in there. Sales are slow but pays the bills!

I'm gonna try to get to a few events this year just to fly! Now with the power chair at least I can get from the pits to the pilot station. I can't walk that far without excruciating pain.

Hope to see you soon! Congrats on the success of your business! I'll take a look at the new kit. I need to build a float plane to fly when we go to run our boats! Some of those guys also fly. Might get you a couple of sales! ;-)

Working on a HK SS float setup. Wonder if the HobbyZone Float Set: Super Cub LP, HBZ7390 would be a good size?
