Matt I had cc 25 in mine but mine was second gen with the 3amp BEC. I think maybe its asking to much for your older 1st gen 1.5amp cc25 on with 3 servo's on 3 cells perhaps? Does the same thing happen on 2 cells? My set-up was the same as yours apart from the difference in gen CC esc's, so I think your right, it could well be that, the BEC cutting in.

Thanks Stuart, didn't think of that, I have a small Ubec I can try, I hope that cures the problem.

Hopefully, if the winds are fair, test flight sometime tomorrow or Thursday!

Thanks Ben, it is a Flying Styro Spit.

Wel, a warbird needs a driver, so I made one from pink foam and painted using acrylics.

Also added neodym magnets to secure the canopy/hatch

Here are a few pics, I hate that rx aerial hanging in the breeze!

Hopefully if she don't get jumped by FW 190's on the maiden, some video to follow.

I didn't get to fly it, weather wasn't helpful and the early gen CC 25 can't cope with an outrunner.

I'm going to upgrade the ESC and hopeully it should be nuch better.

Mare damn soldering...

I decided to make an inlet cooling hole with a 3mm thick depron channel to direct air into the holes at the front of the motor, also gave up on 3s, I tried a 2s and still seems plenty of power, plus the motor is running very smoothly and not cutting out at ful power as before.

Test flight is scheduled for Thursday!

Spit

I obtained my 'Spit' here in the UK from samsmodels.co.uk but without the Griebel gearbox. I had to send for my gearbox from USA, hobbylobby.com. The custom charge was nearly as much as the cost of the gearbox, without carriage costs. But looking at this 'Spit' it was probably worth it. This is my first RC and I will have to buy a 'trainer' before I try to fly it. These photos of the 'Spit' are really interesting and thanks for that.

you couldn't just fit the model with an outrunner ? way cheaper
