Glass over rohacell/herex wing. And 6s would be plenty for "soft crab shell" fuse.

I think you are right actually. 6S ought to be about right.

I'm not so sure this will be a plane will have the same "do what ever you wan't - can't break it in the sky" characteristics like the 3000 watts version.

resonable - no. possible - yes.

I am getting ready for mine, late July. My power setup will be the 'standard' 1509, cc125 etc...

Thanks
D60 in the tail. Haven't decided yet on wings.

Your thoughts?

I am fine with the d60 in the tail. I have a bag full. I was now thinking 85mg or 65mg as suggested by DBox.

Would you consider something like 125mg or 5125?

I have not seen the servo bay.

Just lost my second Tiger last week, cause of mid air failure of my favorite D60 in one aeleron.
Plane was heading toward the Saturday flying field crowd on a dive ,all I had to do its to push an elevator stick a little forward.Hell with Tiger but Pletty is gone South.
Yuri.
P.S. will stay away from D60 where its possible for a while.

Yeah, it's an interesting one. I like the stiffness of everything.

I've had some ruff landings, flew it heavy at 80 oz, pulled max stick at max power dives; and never a crease or crack.

Also hit a tree branch at about 130, it was probably about 3/4 of an inch think and thankfully dry/dead wood. (when I used to tell that story, I think the numbers were 80mph and a 1/4 inch branch - maybe that's like fish stories ;-). Anyways, the plane went right through it, 20 foot branch falling from the sky, the Absolute yawed violently, straightened out and kept on truckin! Some leading edge damage and that was it.

I want to ask everybody whoever flew an Absolute about favorite AWU .By "favorite" I ment litest weight for still great penetration/speed.
There is no trick to stuff plane with tons of LiPos and have a great penetration, but if plane is light and penetrates good ,big thanx to designer and now we can talk about
RG 15 as a "speed" foil.Great performer plane allways stays on the edge of weight IMHO.But WHAT weight for this particular one??????????
Yuri.

Choices choices

epwierman, man I've read your posts in here and in the Kamelot thread. I'm still trying to sort out which one to get. Only thing I know for sure is either plane will fill my need. I called Bob@SUSA and he put me on the list for the Absolute. This is the plane for now.

You got an Absolute reserved!

Great choice.

Here's my thoughts on each.

Kamie plus points:
-larger, therefore lighter wing loading given the same drivetrain.
-Has flaps.
-Fun on 4S 4S4900's like the video showed.
-It you have a bungee, or an experienced launcher, 12S HV setups are possible (and fun).

Absolute plus points:
-smaller, and heavier wing loading given the same set up.
-Appears faster due to it's smaller size, probably is.
-Robust / proven / adored design with lots of history and logged flight hours from many users.

Both are superb flyers. And both are great values within the mid level cost range (say 300 to 500 buck category of airframes). My experience with each is that for rugged everyday abuse, these planes are fantastic designs that fly really well, carve the sky retaining energy nicely, no bad habits, track straight and true like on rails, etc..

Hope that helps,

Eric

Eric (or somebody):

How does the Bandit fit into that category among the Absolute and the Kamrlot?

The bandit is exactly the same type, construction of the plane (wings) are different but his description would apply. Consider the Bandit a mini Kamelot, that you can use an out runner on.
