Pretty sure I flew my 24" on a 2S. If you prop it right, nothing wrong with the 3S. Only concern would be weight.

Yep, that was one item I forgot to mention. But in my defense, I knew I was going to cover it during the 'electronics' installation portion.

One other important item I left out is the thin carbon fiber strip that goes into the horizontal stab. It is a very important structure support. I was kicking myself for skipping it. Not to worry, I bring it up during the build video. Creating these videos requires a bit of a learning curve but I feel like I'm making progress each time.

Editing the videos (2 cameras, audio, timelapse) takes a lot of time. I ran into problems with the new Magix Movie Studio Platinum 14 so I ended up moving back to Movie Studio v13. One major headache has been the lighting in my workshop. The white balance in the first videos looks awful so I decided to confront this issue and changed several lights in my studio to fix it. In the sample stills below, the new light setup looks MUCH better.

Thanks for hanging in there. Your comments are certainly welcome since the main reason I'm doing this...is for you guys!

Soon to be done 25 inch. I have a couple of 500mah 2s that may be a better choice.

Phew! I'm done! It was a lot of work but all four parts are now out on YouTube and the best news of all, the new F&L maiden went perfectly. If I get hit by a bus tomorrow, I know the F&L will live on!

If you've been watching them, I appreciate your support. It would be nice to hear from one person out there (not on RCG) who used the video to build their own kit. Then, all the stress and video editing would be worth it.

Enjoy!

Great job on all 4 videos! Very informative and entertaining. I've built dozens and dozens of foamies but still enjoy seeing how others do their builds. Are you planning to do a painting video?

Again excellent work!

Great work Lee. Quite honestly the most fun I've had in this hobby has been with the Funders.

This plane has been finished and flown some time ago but I am just getting a chance to post now.

Initially there was lead to balance on 2s 500. Way to slow on the 1700kv motor. It flew nice but only just on a calm day.

Tried an 850mah 3s, more power but had to be flown too fast due to the excess weight. Those were the only packs and motors I had available at the time.

There was a sale on 500mah 3s packs! Bought 4, removed the lead and here it is.

It flies great now, this was the re maiden with my friend at the camera and his new video editor. Nice job Rich! After this flight I put in a little more expo on the pitch and it was perfect. Very nice design!

Looks great! Is that downsized from the plans?

Thanks. Yes downsized to 25 inch wingspan. 210g, 500mah 3s, 2813 1750kv Rimfire, hs55's on the wings, hxt900 or 500 (not sure) on elevator.

I never posted the finished plane, I was going to post the pics with the video then my friend beat me to it.

This is a coroplast version in the works. I am looking for tough and maybe fast. It's about a 40in
wingspan. I'm going to make the doubling step with 1/4 pink insulation, and put a 3 or 4mm rod or tube in the corrigation as a spar. White Gorilla glue works great on this stuff. The fuse is going to be some combo of 1/2 foam and balsa laminate. I'm planning on a 3s 2200mah, a 115g or so 1150kv, 10x7 or 10x8 depending how it goes.

Looks good Greg. Can't say I've seen one built with Coroplast before. How much is a sheet of that stuff? Dimensions? Thickness?

There was one in the thread somewhere. This is about 4mm, the sheet was at Home Depot about 17 dollars or so for a 3x6 foot piece. They have a 4x8 for like 20 but its a pia to get home. I've done a couple of builds as it being the main part of a wing, and a big delta of all coro. Both worked great and are tough as nails. I must have nosed the wing into the ground about 10x trying to get the cg and my throw right, with no damage at all. The bit of added weight on the wing makes it solid on a windy day, and the delta is actually a little to lightly loaded but flies great on a calm day.
