Hi TexasTC,
you need to build a Simple Delta then. Stick a 3 cell on one and 20 mph winds are no problem. The SD and my Stryker are the first choices when its blowing hard.

Well, I got it all together. I can't maiden it yet 'cause it's cold, windy and even snowing a little. I could post some details but should I put it here or in the original Blue Funder thread. Here's a pic.

Thanks. That's 3 coats of Craft Smart acrylic paint from Michael's thinned and brushed on with a foam brush. You can see the brush marks up close but it's not bad. I'm gonna have to get me an airbrush. I'm sure airbrushing would weigh less, too.

I just ran across this thread last night and I've read just about every post. I'd really love to build one of these but being unemployed at the moment I can't really afford to buy any (or much) to build with so I'm wondering if what I have on hand will do.

I've got plenty of bluecore so that's not an issue, and I have servos, receiver etc. that aren't being used elsewhere.

My concern is the motor / batteries I have lying around. I have a TowerPro BM2409-18T and a 25A ESC that's not being used and a couple of 900mah 2 cells and a 1500mah 2 cell. Then the next "size" up battery is a 2200mah 3 cell, which I'm assuming is too big for this bird.

Would the 2409-18 and the 1500mah 2 cell combo work ok? Maybe on a reduced scale F&L?

Thanks in advance.

the motor/esc that u have is almost the same that I have on mine. Unlimited verticle. Works great on a gws 9x4 dd prop.

U will need a 3s lipo tho. The smallest one I use is 1000 mah. The largest is a 1550. I have a 2100 thunderpower pack that's the same size as the 1550 ( strange...) but I've never actually used it.

Good luck

I have a 94% version (don't ask) that I put a 1800mah 3s on. Flies awesome on that and 80-90 watts.

Dogsbd, here's a chart for your motor. On 2 cells it'll be slow with the props listed, butmaybe some APC prop would work, I don't have much experience with APC's.

the listed gws 1170 would fly it on 2cells I think
