This is the only place I was aware you could get one, but they are out of stock. They have/had the the EPO versions of just about all the newer models.

Caliber Hobby

Always look for GWS stuff at CaliberHobby.com. CALIBER IS GWS!

They appear to be in stock.

What is the best online site for GWS planes and parts (selection and price)?

I bought my p 40 from epyaya.com (the old gwsexpert.com) and I usually buy 90% of my planes/parts from them, but it seems their selection of GWS planes and parts has been decreasing in the past few years.

PJ,

As Tom posted above, the current best online source for GWS planes and parts in the US is Caliber Hobby. As for price, all vendors pretty much seem to be the same. But occasionally, www.allerc.com will have a sale.

Try Tower hobbies, Some times they have 20-25 off orders 150 or more. Shpping is cheaper then Caliber.

I'm not happy with the shipping charges from Caliber. Pretty bad if you need a replacement part that only costs a few bucks and you get burned 10 for shipping.

Not very fast. The Eflite 480 , Hyperion Z3007-30 (runs mine very well), or AXI 2808 would be better

You're right about that! I emailed them about a $1.50 cowling and asked they surely don't charge $10 shipping for something like that! WRONG! Flat charge... no matter what. Unfortunately they are the ONLY place that has that particular cowl (an E-Starter TWIN... smooth rounded cowl with no openings), but I refused to buy it from them.

The problem with shipping cowls is that they are bulky and need to be put in a larger strong cardboard box to avoid damage. That is why I always buy as many cowls as possible at the one time. This way the cost of the shipping is combined. You may not need a cowl for one of your other GWS models right now but you will sometime in the future.

I still have one each of the GWS-40, GWS T-6, GWS-190 and a set of GWS P-38 cowls from my last buy.

The 4" x 4" X 4" corrugated cardboard carton that Hobby Lobby uses for small parts orders will easily hold most GWS cowls for the planes I have... several if they nest together, and it is more than strong enough. They will ship it anywhere in the world for $3.99 US. Caliber.com would be wise to do the same. $10 is a rip off and gouging for small inexpensive parts.

Greetings, I have a Hyperion 2209/26 and looking to get the EPO version. Will this motor be enough to fly the beast well?

Lester:I've been using a GP Rimfire 35-30-1250 KV motor with good success on 2100 mah 3S and a 10x8 prop. Motor part #GPMG4595. I know this motor will drive this plane with outstanding power.

Here is a link so you can compare the specs to the Hyperion:

You will need at least a Hyperion HP-Z3007-30 or a HP-Z3013-16 to give the heavier EPO GWS-40 good performance. I use the GWS 3008/16T in my EPO GWS-40.

Ken, It looks like the HP-Z3007-26 is very comparable to my 1250 KV motor.
I tried the Eflite Park 480 1020 and it was underpowered.
