Some more pictures as I unpack the box. Just a note - I got the 005A (3900 Kv green) motors - just as I had asked for.

It looks like GWS has included 2 nose cones. Probably due to the number of crunch ups people have had with the 262 and P-38, and there being no spares yet.

I don't see any covers for the cheater holes in that package? I assume they're hidden aware in a bag someplace?

Just examining the kit contents. Looks very good - just like the 262. About a week ago I downloaded the instruction manual - so I already sorta know what I'm doing.

The first nice thing is the battery compartment is a nice size. This is my new Flightpower evo25 2170 pack. should be lots of room for those who are going the 4S route.

There is a nicely molded cooling air inatke in the bottom - but the nicest part is the molded air exhaust right into the intake! The 2 fans should provide some nice positve airflow through the battery compartment.

David,
The covers are molded in clear plastic and they are in the bag with the canopy.

They are about as thick as the 262 canopy - I just wonder that if some guys are going with higher power setups - it may be advisable to reinforce them with some carbon fiber or something as they are quite wide and I could see them POSSIBLEY collapseing.

Damn! To bad the weather is going to suck for the rest of the week.
We just had a week of sunny, record breaking hot weather - and now this.

For the really adventurous - I think you Could squeeze a small set of retracts into it. The main wheels would not be in the fuse - but would be semi recessed into the fuse side. GWS looks to have molded this into the plane.

There is a molded pocket for (I assume) a nose gear when retracted. You can also see the scribes in the side just forward of the main gear mounts.

For me - this is more than I want to attempt. I will do the first flight with gear to judge the flight preformance, especially takeoff, with the 005A motors and 3 cells. Then I will remove the gear and handlaunch - as I really don't have any other choice where I fly.

I also need to test preformance with and without the cheater covers installed.

This should be fun~!!!

Sweet. It looks good. Now, start building so I will know what to do and not do when mine finally gets here.
