Flew some 3D in the arvo at the local park to get some frustration out of the system..........

Chucked it off on Sunday in very marginal conditions. Managed a couple of circuits and everything seemed OK (except for the lift).

I need to rework the elevator linkage. I was lazy and set it up using the Tx to center and cannot get enough mechanical up movement.

Seemed promising though......

Got mine today.

Ordered one on Thursday, and received it today. Just 4 days to get from Hong Kong to Tokyo. Not bad. BTW, Aerofever is doing a 10 % off sale till end of this month.

Just hope mine performs better than my DG1000 , so far My el'cheapo Mini Ventus has proven to be a top machine to fly both my inland and coastal sites . It drops a wing slightly but nowhere near the DG1000 .

thanks Steve for your opinion. I dont know how fly the DG100 so I cant compare.

But like you I hope ASW-28 is a good glider for slope even if the wing tips seems to be a little small.

So users reports are wellcome.

I flew My ASW28 on the weekend ,they fly great ,no noticable bad habits to report .Its Fast and loops an rolls are on rails . 1 Bad point is the flex in the vert stress cracks at the base of the fin just from landing and the stab making it flex . I think I may cut the rudder post out and see if i cant get a little kevlar in around the base of the fin. Apart from that I love it so much more fun to fly than the DG which you have to be on top of every second of the flight .

Steve, happy you love flight your ASW28. You said it run fast, perhaps due to
the weigh ?

What's its AUW ?

What recept battery you use and how much extra weigh you added to balance ?

Do you thing if moving the servo from tail to nose could decrease the AUW ?

Pegase,
The weight I'm not sure of as I have not put it on the scales but I would guess around the 3.5 kg mark 230,grams of lead which i'm going to reduce 50 grams of after the beefing up I've done in the belly pan and nose with some 8 oz kelvar I also removed the rudder post and managed to get some kevlar around the fin to fuse transition point which has made all the difference in the world no flex at all now . I also flew the DG1000 again yesterday as well yes it flys ok but it still does not hold a patch to the 28 IMHO .

Steve,

3.5kg seems to me to be very heavy.

Are you sure about your measure ?
