Thanks for the info about Ultimate Hobbies. I cancelled my order with Tower and ordered from them. It saved a lot of money.

Radio included in Ultimate Hobbies Offering?

Doesn't say-I think boat is supposed to include radio but I would not assume anything.

ETNZ radio gear needed

Just received mine today and WOW! This kit is a piece of art. I don't know how it's gonna sail but for sure is a winner for details and very well disigned too. Instructions are clear, stickers are pre-cut and the keel is unique with horizontal fins. You'll need a quarter scale winch type servo what i think is different from informations seen on the net (they say two standard servos). I was looking for a Tamiya round the world for the look and details of it but it's not a cheap kit for a plastic hull, not saying that it is not a good one but not cheap. You have to see the paint on the hull it's settings the standard for others. I hope that the time of plain white hull with few or no stickers is ended. That's my personal opinion, for sure it is not suitable for those who wants to customize their boat. I'll post during the building process to give a feedback on likes and dislikes about this kit and as usual read your new posts in this thread.

Best regards

Stéphane

please be sure to add in a forestay.

thunder tiger never do. typically boat sails off, mast falls backwards and sailor gets dissilusioned with sailing.

it is fun, but some additions are required!!

Can you post pics of this modification as you gonna do on your kit? What material would you use for it?

Thank you in advance.

for now run a bit of rigging string up the front of the jib from boom to mast, will act as a safety line, sail will stretch eventuallly and corners pull out.
we are making new kevlar sails.

Thanks Andrew for the explanation, it's my first sailboat so i have a lot to learn.
After seeing the sails that comes with it i already known that it would need a better set of sails for serious weather sailing condition. It's good to know that somebody is already working on that.

sorry if the answer is a bit breif, just have too many boats and not enough time!!

have a regatta tommorow, and are wanting to replace the ram for canting the keel (real boat), so flat out!!!

initially sail the boat in light weather as the rudder is not that big, and when fitting the keel and rudder, oil or grease them to stop them rusting in place, also a good idea to remove them when not sailing.

now go sail!!!!!!
