OT: Robot Bike

One of my long time interests has been autonomous (not RC) robots. I think this video is cool. There is even a short appearance by a TT chassis.

Check out the entire DARPA grand challenge video on the PBS website for more 2 and 4 wheeled robots.

Yup, pretty cool... Check out the following site if you want to see more videos and pictures of the Team Ghost Rider bike in action...

And here:

And the cool CMG they used to keep it up here:

I've been a little interested in this one myself. - And soon you may all see why...

I have always thought that what you are talking about would be a blast. Did a lot of research on it a while back.

You could get one of these guys to be an HOR rider.

You can spend a lot of time on this site, I did.

I have built a couple autonomous robots in the past. I have used Sonar, IR, and bump sensors. I then wrote custom sensor drivers and wrote the control algorithm based on the subsumption architecture.

the robot will be RC... we're still trying to figure out if the 'bot will be controlling the bike, or just a rider that "showboats" (puts his legs down and raises his hand to wave to the crowd when the bike stops)
