screws that just keep turning!

Just been trying to remove the tail block (the thing that the gyro sits on (trex450se)). However there are a couple of screws that I simply cant remove. They keep turning. Any tips how to remove them??

Put a flat blade screwdriver under the head an put a small amount or pressure on the screw while turning.

The SE tail block is rather soft metal in my opinion. I have already stripped three of the thread holes on my tail block trying to get it tight enough to hold the boom in place. I have a different design now of keeping the tail boom in place so I don't need to worry that the block can keep it tight.
