Approach Engineering AH-64A Apache Swift/Logo 10 size kit

I received an e-mail from James Linder/Approach Engineering this morning and he has done it again. On the heels of his .30-.46 size Apache, a .60 size Cobra, and a Swift/Logo 10 size Cobra kits he has now finished a Swift/Logo 10 sized Apache. I have attached some pics that show the prototype and also have seen some video of the test flights of this super little kit. This is a top quality builders' kit made from CNC balsa, lite ply and vacuum formed window glazings. It's very complete kit and as soon as I have mine I'll be back to share the kit content with you.

Body looks great. Does look funky though with the 2 blade main and tail rotors.

Just got an e-mail from James Linder and my Swift/Logo10 size Apache is enroute to me. When it arrives, I'll do a thread with pics of the contents. The McFarlane heli crew chiefs should be ideal with a little helmet upgrade to make them look like Apache headgear.

James is really good about bringing quality kits to the consumer. I'm sure it won't be too long until these are available. Contact James at jamerlinder@yahoo.com and get a kit reserved if you want to minimize yiour waiting time.
I will be showing some finishing methods that focus on low cost, ease of application, but yielding authentic looking results. I have an Israeli Air Force AH-64 in mind for a different camo paint scheme for this new model.

Great news, I know you won't be disappointed. I'm flying a fbless two blade test mule on a Swift chassis that will be going in my little Cobra. Keep us posted through your build and flying.

Hoverup,
I know various companies make scale rotors for scale helis. Since the Logo 10 is a standard 30 size machine are there any rotors that would be easy to use with the logo mechanics to make the apache have scale 4 rotor blades? The apache looks sweet but the flybar has got to go provided it is resonably easy to do.

Hey Bat. Long time no type my friend. I have had success using Hirobo wooden blades designed for their .30 size Lama three bladed head. These are nicely tip weighted and measure 476mm. You'll have to buy two sets of three, but that will leave you with two for your fbless Approach Engineering Swift/Logo 10 Cobra. I found mine at an Singapore shop for a reasonable price and shipping. Hirobo part number is 0402-612. Swash plate, swash follower and four bladed head are all Century products.

Similar approach should work with the Logo 10.
