You have to buy the rudder control rod to get the guide. Check that bag for it.

Yep, my rudder control rod bag does not have the guide (and the bag is still sealed too). I just found out I'd have to buy the rod too. Forget that, I'll make something if I need it.

Thanks for the offer, Marv! I think I'll give it a try without it too. The more I look at Bob's videos and study the pictures, the less I like the way it's designed anyway.

Hey, I have a battery-related question for you guys: Would 8S lipo be roughly equivalent to 10S A123 as far as voltage under load?

I ask because I've got a couple of 4S 2100's (25c) that I could series up and try in this thing, assuming my motor and gear ratio selection (Neu 1910/1.5Y and 9 or 10T) for 10S A123 would be similar. They should be able to handle the current draw at least as well as the A123s, don'tcha think?

Chris,

The way I see it the 8S LiPo would be 33.6v (8x4.2v) and the 10S A123 would be 36v (10x3.6v).

They will probably work but that will most likely depend on your ESC and motor.

Very nice, Eeeeky! That's sure got some jump. What is that squealing sound I hear? It almost sounds like something rubbing, or a bad bearing?

Fred, I got the Swift from Tower Hobbies, and I read on HF that someone else had a "missing item" issue with them and they directed him to Century. I'll give it a try, but I'm not going to cry over one tiny part. Especially considering all the discount codes and coupons I used which got me the airframe for $175 .

Carl, I thought I'd read somewhere that due to voltage drop under load 10S A123 was roughly the same power output as 8S Lipo. Could be wrong though, it's happened a time or two.

LOL! I first thought to myself "that sounds like the old paper on a comb trick". So I guess the heat shrink is a bit loose? It sounded like you were running about 1800 until you switched into idle up, then it went to what... 2000?

Well, I sure hope mine flies that well! It's going to be a little heavier, since I'll be running 10S A123 (finally won an ebay auction for a pack!). I may go up to 550's to help carry the weight. I'm a big fan of woodies myself ( ) but I don't see any Century-brand 550's. Has anyone tried the Raptor 550 woodies on a Swift, or perhaps these aftermarket 550 woodies?

Maybe later... For now, my skills don't justify $90 rotor blades. I'm no Eeeeky.
