RC Aircraft design book


I'm looking into getting into designing and building my own r/c airplanes, could you guys point me in the direction of some good reading material on this subject.

Here and also the scale and vintage forums. For balsa type stuff anyway.

Foamies and glass fibre planes have their own places.

Suggest you download someone's free plans, and start by just building something that works first, and develop your own ideas from there.

Check out Amazon.com for the Andy Lennon book RC Aircraft Design. Lots of good info.

What Flying Wing Nut said. It is really not a book, but rather a compilation of Andy Lennon's magazine articles, so the figure numbers do not always match, but it is a wealth of good information.

Andy Lennon's book is: Basics Of R/C Model Aircraft Design. I found it in a Backyard Flyer magazine ad. It's a great book filled with lots of technical stuff and math. I am in the process of building a plane of my own design. This book says a lot about many different kinds of planes and why things work the way they do. Kevin
