Help with GWS Tiger Moth 400 Build

I want to get this plane and have it together by next week, but not sure about the flight pack. I am planning on using the stock motor, this is what I am thinking GWS ICS480/J, GWS Servo Naro Standard w/JR Plug, GWS 8-Cell 9.6V 750mAh NiMH Battery Pack JST. I would love to use a lipo, but not sure what voltage I would use. I have built 2 other planes, pico tiger moth and a e-flite p-47.

You'll want to read through this TM400 build thread .

You'll see a lot of us have had good success with a 3s lipo... the TP2100 fits quite nicely, and gives you great flight times. Don't worry about the stock 400 motor, you'll get lots of flights on that setup before it burns out, and by that time you may be ready to go brushless. If not, a replacement 400 motor is less than $10, and it's an easy replacement.

I think you'll like the TM400, it's a great little plane.

Yes. 3s = 11.1 v 2s = 7.4 v.

I tried initially with a 2s lipo, but found that it was really underpowered, and was basically flying WOT all the time.

I run a 3s 1320 TP lipo... I like to keep my planes light... the TM400 just floats around with that lipo... and you will enjoy her... she is absolutely a wonderful flyer that gets over shadowed by her smaller sister (pico moth) because she is smaller and even slower.

Has anyone ever flow this with a Parkzone 3 cell 2200 lipo?

My only concern with that is the PZ lipos are a little heavier then a TP lipo of the same cell count and MAH... like 30-45 grams heavier....
