You're right Ambrose, it's more "shaker" than "blower"!

Managed to mock it up to see how I went with the CG location and it looks like anything less than a 16/40/XX or about 170 grams will result in it being nose heavy, so I am happy and relieved! Still have a couple hours work to do to finish but the worst is over.

Good to hear there maybe a few more builds about to occur as this threads been pretty quiet except for those unsavory FPV types that your mother warned you about.

Thanks Mopar!

I'm expecting to spin 6.5 and maybe 7 inch APC Pylons really fast but I won't know for sure until I try as I don't have much experience with 8 cell 28mm setups!

In the interim I'll maiden it with my trusty 16/40/1.5SC on 6 cell 5000's and APC 6.5x5 which will pull about 102 amps, 2160 watts, 34,000 rpm and provide about 160mph pitch speed. Could aways just run a 6x4 on 7 cells instead I guess too!

Looking very nice there Peter. Cant wait to do some drag racing against your new one seeing as I smoked your previous version by about 2mph (I calculated that by eye during our racing flights).
Ive been working on some super thin carbon fibre winglets to get a little more speed.

So whens the maiden. I'll bring the GPS.

forget thinner winglets, just cut 5" off each wing probably add 40kph to the landing speed but i would guess it would add 20kph to the top speed at least

I'm thinking the extra stripes I put underneath should give me all the extra speed I need so watch out Trent! Although cutting 10 inches off it would make it easier to store......

Maiden should happen as soon as I finish my assignment, only another 1300 words to go!

Not going to work for you Pete, as I already have speed stripes which are slightly wider and therefor faster

carbon kills RF , especially bad with FPV

i think i need a D40 for this much power

maybe 120mph....

the funny thing was it was about 10 seconds after the full power run.

i did a big full power dive, cruised past at 1/4 throttle, turned around applied about 1/2 throttle and tried to climb next thing its spiraling at the sea. the horn must have been pulled loose and just let go when i pulled up.

Thats a bummer for sure. And thats fast for a wing this size that isn't getting the rite weave. Thanks for showing us its limits on lamanet. It would probably hold together going faster if care was taken not to yank and bank real aggressively.? but then thats not as fun!
