Long story short on my TL50: I talked to Chris K. about trimming out and did a dive test. Power on dive, chop throttle and see what it does. When I tried to pull out it wouldnt and went nose in. I rebuilt it, flew twice and have it trimmed again. When in a mild dive it flys straight until I pull up. It pulls up but also rolls to the right. When level it flys straight. Two questions: 1) why wouldnt it react to up elevator when in a high speed dive 2) why does it fly straight until you want it to pull out of a mild dive- it pulls up and rolls right? low DR at 35%, high at 65%, CG 8", 45 oz. AUW,

To address the above problem I retaped the hinges, readjusted the control horns, played with the transmitter sub-trims. Off to test fly... This is like a part time job for me.

Do you have any up close pix of the elevons and thrust angle?

I will get some pics up later but I found out a couple of things. When I pull the right stick down I probably was pushing it slight left at near bottom. I played with the spring tension and practiced. Also, I re set up the rods, horns, and retaped the hinges. It loops nice and even now. As far as not wanting to pull out of a high speed dive that might be fixed now also. I believe there was too much play of the tape hinges. It looks tighter now. With only 35% on the rates, in a high speed dive it is very important not to have loose ailerons. I will get more aggressive on my dives until I am confident enough to do another power on dive test. Learned alot, cant take the tape hinge step lightly. Thanks. Also, talked to a shop that is interested in selling wings. Send me that postage we talked about or PM me if you didnt get my email.

Good News & Bad News

I maidened the 60 today!!! I love it!!! It felt great right off the bat! A few click of up elevator, a few right clicks and she felt great. I think I have a new favorite.

Very stable, handled very well, speed was great for a wing of this size. Prolly 80-100. Never really left it open long enough to unload. I worry this motor will smoke at 50 amps! I am running the arc 2t longcan on 3s 7200mah packs, with an 8x4 direct drive. The thrust is enough to hover it in my hand. I am getting a new gearbox to try this motor on 6s, it'll bring the amps down to 30ish. This motor might do a 7x5 full throttle all day, its to soon to tell.

I got my demon lite almost dialed! I was really enjoying this one. Its sorta a beater so I am getting reckless with it. She is flying great now! I had to tweak the thrust angle, lower the rates, dropped an ounce of lead, and she is feeling great in the air! Not bad for a 200watt setup!

Now the bad news! My Beloved TL50 lite came in really hot! There was to guys who pulled over in this beautiful 48? Ford to watch us fly. They were standing in my landing path, if they werent there I would of prolly kicked the throttle and took it for another pass. But instead I slammed the elevator driving her to a major belly flop 3' above the earth. Would of been fine except this 10lb chunk of earth kissed the nose bringing the bird to an abrupt stop! 30-0 in a split seconed! That chunk of earth jumped off the ground about a foot vertically and a foot horizontally! Everything survived! The covering is trashed and I tore the henrys at the prop slot. Easy fix but that covering ain't cheap!

Had a blast though Been a while since I've gone out for a few hours and flown.

I am going to try to get in a couple more flights on the 60 this weekend.

We all gotta have bad days once in a while

So did ya get the 50 down safely? Did you check the prop adapter? Could it be loose?

What happened with the FS, did it fly at all?

Good luck at the races!!!

Is this correct? If so, I wouldn't recommend even attempting to fly this combination. If it's a 4W, you can do it. My 4W on 3S with a 7x5e pulls right at 50 amps static on good 3S 5000mah packs. A 3W will pull over 90 amps on 3S and 7x5e and will release the magic smoke in a hurry. Either the battery, ESC, or motor will smoke.

He's Rite. That motor can barely handle a 6x4 on three cells.

I have my DR set at 50&70% for elevator. When she slows down you need a bit more elevator. The aileron is set at the same 50-70%.

50% is a good place to start and then you can go from there.

Good luck!
