If I go with the microdan speed on 3s... Could I use the thunderbird 36? Or would I be better off with the phoenix 35?

the thunderbird 36 works perfect with the MicroDAN Speed motor, the only down side is a limit of 3s.

Dan, would the 2505 Speed 2800kv be ok on 5S A123? What prop would you recommend if so, same as a 4S lipo, APC 4.25x4.24?

Rock on.. Last dyno on the TA I hit 381rwhp through an automatic.. Too bad it's not a 6 speed..

I am waiting on a new intake which should put me well over 400rwhp..

I think you will be ok as long as you prop it to spin less than 58K RPM. no ESC I am aware of will turn the 14 mag motor faster than 58K.
Heads up I am now running tests on a 10 magnet version of the 2505. so far unloaded RPM of more than 70K is easy to hit.

Thanks Dan. I'm sure I'll be happy with 3s on the lighting... but it's always nice to be able to upgrade later.

Covering for the Visually impaired

This is my second 36 lightning. Same setup except I use Hyperion DS13 Mg's.

Thought I could get it lighter but I was wrong, its 20oz on the dot. the last one was 20.5 with a half ounce in the nose. This one should need no lead as everything is farther forward then before.

So if you cant see this one in the air you got problems....

Thanks Adam.

Like I've said no rush. I have this 700 watt stryker that i have been messing around with keeping me entertained. I still know that this bird is a quantum leap forward in terms of maneuverability and thats a good thing .
