Could I get some recommendations on a motor for the 36 Lighting? I'd like to see the 120mph speeds as well as some impressive vertical. I'd like to stick with 3s2200 battery packs.

Well, looks I'm going to wind up with chuckand's TL-40.. He's a local good ole' boy so that makes it easy..

TL40 Airframe with 2x HS-225MG's. Fiberglassed. Ready to cover.. A HET 4W and I'll be running 2X 2S 3700 PolyRC's..

I guess next is the Lightning 36..

120 mph , is a tall number,maybe in a stait down dive.A 2800 kv arc motor on 2 3s 2100's in paralel on a cc45 or 60 esc will be a great setup.

The 28-37-2.5(2800kv) was allright on the 36 Lightning, I don't think it was 120 though. Maybe 100...maybe

IMHO, the problem is its going to take more amps then your battery will allow to get it moving that quick.

A MicroDan speed on 4s and a 4.75x4.75 will get you there.

The same motor on the pack you have will get you this...Speed runs towards the end..

Ritewing Lightning 36 (8 min 44 sec)

Only reason I came up with 120 is because that's what was on the site. I could live with 100

Great video Adam (and camera man). What esc are you using? Any idea what kind of amps it's pulling? I'll have 25c batts.

ck... no problem fitting 2x 3s2200's?
