Took the BBAP across the harbor to Fort Adams State Park this morning. Had some really nice AP conditions until the wind picked up around 1130. I posted the video and a few stills here in the AP forum. I'll embed the vid here, too, since my big girl took it for me. I'm very plesed with the way most of it turned out. Had some issues with vibration artifact at WOT after switching back to the 10x4.7SF. The ground roll and first few seconds look a little shakey, but it gets better. Might have to go back to the 1060HD for AP work.

nice work kendall; smooth flying, perfect turns. my garage stereo went out on me, so i have no sound, but it's enough to get me jealous! btw, i struck out looking at ap cams in sam's club today (no good ones). on a happier note, i gained approval for a new digicam from the marital budget committee, under the condition that my daughter gets full use when i'm not out flying ap sorties. it'll be a competition to see who will break the camera first... i think i'm going to buy my first extended warranty on this purchase.

Thanks for the comments guys. The raw footage was about 18 minutes. Editing into a 4-minute ADHD vid was the hardest part.

Wow! The video brought back a lot of memories. When I was a kid in the 60s, I worked on Thames St and Second Beach was my second home :-) Boy do I need to get a camera! David |

I haved noticed that my pages are always smaller, in my case it is due to being in the UK and having european sized A4 paper. If you look at page size of most posted plans in Acrobat they using American A4 with is slightly larger. If a single page plan is available i print that of on A3 and then use photocopier to enlarge to the correct size (through trial and error). My Blu Baby 33 is nearing completion, should hopefully maiden tomorrow, only got to fit servos and control rods. Built using 6mm white Depron and using the KF wing with ailerons. I will paint wing and tailplane after i get it flying, I have a nice metallic Blue that i used on my Ultrafly Furious Fuselage (see avatar) that looks great. Del |

Maidened my 33" Blu Baby today, the Komodo motor would not hack it on 2 cells so had to go to 3, pulls ok now but something does not seem right.
Auw with 1250 3 cell is just over 14 ounces. CoG is nearer 2.75 inches than the 3.2 for the KF Wing, its just to unstable back at 3.2 inches. The Ailerons seem to be pretty ineffective as well, maybe its because they get narrower towards the tips, seem to have to use a lot of rudder in turns as well, bank and yank dont work. The ailerons, set as flaperons work well as flaps when deployed enables good slow down and flys a lot better than with them up. Not sure if raising the step by 6 mm was a good idea instead of leaving just two layers of foam. Gives 8-9 % thickness which is supposed to be good for KF. Any ideas, i will have another play tomorrow and maybe change to a Blue wonder see if that can pull it on 2 cells. May just revert to flat wing or under camber, i dont seem to have much luck with these KF wings. Del |
