Winter Project, newest Houston Hawk

I finally maidened my HH last Saturday up here in beautiful Jackson WY. This bird flew right out of my hand, one toss to check the glide path, then right up on the winch, straight like an arrow, Awesome to say the least
Well worth the effort, built according to Jacks detailed instructions.
Attached some pictures. National Forest property, wide open, about 7000 feet ASL. Thermals were fantastic, perfect for test flying.
So Long

Erich, that's a fine looking Hawk. It will reward you with many hours of soaring delight. Come see us next time you get to Houston.

Erich, that's a beautiful HH and it sounds like a great first flight, congrats. You must have one of the most beautiful flying fields on the planet. I learned to ski mostly at Jackson, love that area. Also lots of very nice people too.

Hey Erich. Like seeing your HH so much, am going to finish mine. Built the wings 2 years ago. Never made the fuselage, hate working with a ready made glass fuse. Have plans for a wood fuse of the same size, so will start that shortly. Thanks to your photos.

To all,

Thanks for all the nice replies, I am flattered to say the least.
ARF's are nice and quick, but the satisfaction of building can't be beat!!

Thermals!!

Interesting, originally from where??

I was born & raised in Switzerland, but live over here for 30 + years.

PS: Get this bird built and get it flying, amazing model!!

Erich,

That has to be one of the best looking Hawks to date. Glad it flys well for you. It's still the most gratifying thing I've experienced in modeling to see others enjoying my designs and benefiting from the advise given to me by those that taught me many years ago.

Thanks Jack, it sure turned out nice, covering took me almost a week, but the effort was well worth it. What's next?? Anything on the drawing board??
Now I get the itch for more building.

Take care!
