1st elmh flight a success

It's almost been three months since I ordered my LMH at the end of Jan. After a few nights' assembly, I finally got a chance to test fly the baby for the first time yesterday evening. The weather was nice and calm, around 60 degree F. The chopper had been visually inspected to ensure all control surfaces work in the ball park range before applying power (didn't bother to balance the blades). The thing hovered nicely, without any surprise. As far as I can tell the hover characteristics of the eLmh is quite decent (at least under no wind condition.)

It was a complete success.

The specs. -
* 110 kit + electric crutch
* 3xHS81 servos + 555 micro rcvr (with case) + GWS PG01T gyro (3 yr old) + Deans 2pc whip antenna
* 1010-2y+D35 (purchased from Velocity Models for $206) + 14T pinion
* One 4 degree + one 6 degree grip
* Radio Shack 7.2V 2000mAh Ni-Cd battery pack (part # 23-330A)

The all-up-weight is 37.0oz, including the canopy. Total hover time is slightly over 4 minutes (the last few seconds barely above the grass). The old Radio Shack battery seems to hold only about 1600mAh (charged @4A and peaked after about 24 minutes.) So with a good 2000mAh I expect 5+ min. hover time.

Ferite rings are used on both the controller input and output wires to suppress the noise.

I have 6 packs of Sanyo 2000s matched and pushed and average 5.5-6 ninutes with a simular setup.
