Hi there "vtdiy" I will have a look, I will try to find them.. The problem was that I had to delete my first YOUTUBE account due to an action starring my Drunk neighbour. I placed a Vid from him, showing how intaxacated he was while driving his car down our streets and neighbourhood for about twenty times. I called the police several times, but they could'nt do anything they said..So I placed the video on Youtube, so other people could see the danger my kids faced every day while playing in the street.
Unfortunatley some hacker site picked up the vid and called me a snitch, nazi, gestapo, etc. They called my wife and daughters whore's, and bother, and molested me trough mail, facebook, hyves, msn, and youtube. So you understand I had to delete everything I build up over the years... sorry..

regards Gert

That's a terrible story Gert. Sorry that happened to you. I hope you are still flying, and perhaps some day we can see your Puddle Twin again.

Night Monster (Puddle)

Hi Guys,

@ Gert, man that is rough on you and yours, sorry to hear about those oxygen thieves, Darwin will sort those loosers out.

We have had strong Northerly winds all week, and it finally was flyable tonight, so off to the big pool with some leds fitted for orientation in the dark, sorry for poor quality of the video, it's a bullet HD and not great in low light.

regards to all,

Night Monster (Puddle) (4 min 27 sec)

Hi there,

I just want to say: Hats off to the designer of the Puddle Twin and the contributors to this thread!
It is probably the reason I decided to build an R/C plane of my own - and definately the reason it got finished and managed to lift off.

Since I've never actually flown R/C before (excluding simulators) I've been using my twin as a boat for a while, awaiting the best weather possible.
But last sunday I got the wind conditions I was looking for (and finally got the nerves) to also use the elevator a bit, so I thought I'd share this picture with you now:
Name: MyPuddleTwin.jpg
Views: 125
Size: 77.0 KB
Description: And we have liftoff
(apologies for the poor picture quality... it's from my crappy cell phone's video recording.)

- "Ebisol" 3mm foam + UHU por glue
- 2x Hobbywing Pentium 10A ESC:s
- 2x Hextronik 1500kv motor
- 2x GWS EP-7035 props
- 2x HXT500 servo
- 2s 800mAh LiPo
(To help any newcomers who are as new to this as I was a couple of months ago)

I do have a problem I hope someone could give me some hints on - how does one actually mount the wing with rubberbands.
Currently I'm using two rubberbands (120mm x 10mm) on each side and two across to the other sides.
However, I had to cut them in half (lengthwise) in order to not squish the wing's foam too much by the stretch.
This is a solution that doesn't seem very sturdy to me, but the rubberbands has already caused "dents" in the trailing and leading edges of the wing anyway.
Should I try to get a hold of longer rubberbands or have I placed the wooden dowels through the fuselage too much in the middle, causing unnecessary stress?

And should I be using one on rubberband on each side and two across or what is the recommended practice?

Thanks in advance!

Congrats for the maiden TonkTonk & welcome to the Puddle Pilots and RCgroups

Very nice to start RC with a twin and scratch built of course

My wing is attached with rubberbands, the tape on leading edge is strong enough to support the pression of the bands, I reinforced the trailing edge where the bands apply with tape also but you can do it with a thin sheet of balsa or maybe a piece cut in a yogurt can taped in place.

That lake looks deadcalm, can't wait to see more from your Puddle

Congratulations! Looks great, and what a cool way to begin in RC!

I glued a couple of short lengths of bamboo skewer to the trailing edge where the rubber bands crossed.

Thanks meatbomber, yes it is fun when a scratchbuilt seaplane comes to life and does what it is meant to do. Taxiing is so much fun, you almost forget to fly the thing. Here is some more inspiration for PT builders. Anyone at the moment?

1st time onboard cam. 2nd half is boring!
puddle twin cam mount test (5 min 7 sec)

More interesting point of view: Wing float behavior.
floatview (4 min 25 sec)

Short take off and shorter landing. Split second decision when running out of landing strip:
dunking (2 min 11 sec)
