Bobrez... if you try to put 21A throught that motor you're gonna smoke it...

These things are most comfortable between 7 and 10 amps and you're really pushing it on 10a.

In the past I've only pushed this motor design (different KV) to 7 amps, but have started propping up to really take advantage of them and am flying pretty much most of the flight around 8-9 amps. They now come down warm to hot with the motor mount heatsink VERY hot (doing its job and well).

These websites are ridiculous with some of the claims of what the motors can do and you're really better off buying a 'good' wattmeter or wattsup, or whichver one you want and gauging your prop useage from there.

With that said... this motor is pretty darn cool and I had one show up on my doorstep a week ago... I'd start with a 4 or 5" prop and gauge the draw from that on 2S, but realistically, stay under 10amps and this motor will last for you.

Go to 21 amps and it probably won't last the first flight.

Good lucK!

One more time.

Tom Core, Where is the Center of gravity, and what prop is best for you?

I have not posted to this thread in awhile the trick to getting this plane to fly correct it a perfect CG to far forward and (Ask me how I know you get a plane that will not pull out of a power dive) to far back and you get a plane the looks like its trying to fly up hill just right and she floats around at 1/2 throttle and at full speed is a nice little jet.

Bumping this thread.
This wing flies just too nice not to get recognition.

slickster, very nice! What's your set-up?

I've been thinking about building this. I just finished up the EPP F22 and have gotten about a half dozen flights on it.

I was wondering if anyone knew how the Cutlass compares to it?

Brushless Emax CF2805 motor
MultiPlex MultiCont BL-17 ESC
APC 6X4E prop
EFlight 7.4V 800mAh 2-Cell LiPo (waiting for new 3s from LHS before cutting foam)
Spektrum Ar6000 reciever

It's faster and more agile wing compared to the F22 with same power setup.
The F22 is why I ordered a bigger battery. It might be to much for this wing. I'll find out this week when it comes in.

I stole the power train from the F22 to try out the Mini Cutlass. I haven't put it back yet. I REALLY like it.
Flies similar to a HyperFlea. Also seems to handle wind better.

For the $5.00 in foam, Definitely one of my best investments

Sound like fun. I guess I'll have to give it a try. I'm starting to run low on foam. Guess I'd better stock up for the winter.

Like it Slick, still on my favorite shapes list, After seeing Firetrappes video, I would build the full size one. The little one is too manic for me!
That why I like the F22, It suits my slower style of flying.

I wanted to build the full size but didn't have enough foam and figured I'd give the mini a try.
I coudn't fly like Firetrappes video either, Id wet myself.

With the throws turned down, It flies slow and manageable.

I think I built my F22 way too heavy, needing more battery.
I'm ordering more foam from sloper. Building new light F22 and a SuperSlo 28.

COG is 11 1/4" from tip of nose. This is for the 30" model though. If you have the 24" version you need to adapt. Just try moving the battery forward or backward till it flys right. I will be flying my original 30" today.

Wow just happend to stumble across the SB foamy section (usually hang out in mini helis) and I'm already hooked. Placed an order for some EPP and quickly knew I had to build this guy.
Gonna build the mini. I have a 26g 28-05
is this too heavy for the mini? I prefer slow flight and currently still learning about prop size/pitch.

I will post pics and questions as I progress on build, thx for the posted free plans

Hi all,

I am wondering if this (http://www.wattsuprc.com.au/product_...sp?pid=EW-M001) 1500kv motor running on a 7.4v battery with an 8x3.8 prop would have enough guts to run the normal size (30inch) cutless? It says it will have 365 GNMS of thrust. Please help because I want to order my motor and batteries for the weekend.
