Hi Joe,

haven't flown the 60 yet although I am ready. I need a 80amp esc, only have a 60 right now. Was ready to buy one at list price but dyno tests showed me pulling 65amps at 90% throttle, so I was a bit skidish about it. I just need an 80. I mentioned this online and CK got me a killer deal on the 80 so I was waiting for that. He will be sending it today so hope to have it early next week. I'm itchin' to fly it. I think CK is expanding into full hobby shop owner mode!

Fly me to the moon...

Ahhhhhhh!

I am beside myself! So the mega did'nt work cause the wire placement interfered with the clamshell mount. So I bought a Het 2w-25 and went to put the gearbox on, but.......;

Whats this? The frickin Hets dont have the 16mm mounting holes!!!!

So now I am back to square one! I have a Kontronik fun 480 2800kv that could use a 3-1 reduction. Either way I need to buy something, either a new motor or a new gearbox.

Motors are easy, gearboxs are tough, The best I found was the multiplex 3.3-1 universal planetary gearbox. I really want an inline gearbox but there are none under 4-1 and barely any with 3.3-1.

I have about had it it with trying to get this Sicksty airborn!!! Somebody find me a gearbox with 19mm mounting plate and a 2-1 reduction! Preferably inline . I know I am demanding! I have looked everywhere and came up with squat. My head hurts!

I have a Mega 16-25-3, The Kontronik listed above, and a Het 2w25, Now I need a gearbox that will work with any of these and give me ~17000 rpms to an 8x4 prop! Running 6s by the way.

Pull the end bell of and remount it.Put a little acetone around the edges frist then rig a puller.
I will try one from a burnt up mega and let you know how it goes.

Sunday's the Day!

The twin is done, and in transit. I will have it in my hands Saturday afternoon!! I already have a digital video camera and camera man lined up for the maiden on Sunday morning. I will post the video Sunday, after flying. CK called me yesterday and fired up the twins on the phone. The sound of those counter rotating 7x5's sounded awesome. Man, this is gonna be one cool wing. Thanks CK.

"The Twins" got here today. What a beautiful wing. CK, your craftsmanship is simply outstanding. When you have Chris build you a wing, you really are getting the very best there is in wing technology. Even the box it's shipped in is "Rite"

It's Big. Almost the same size as my 15 year old! I did a range check. I'm using the Extreme Power Systems 2.4ghz set up in my eclipse 7. Anyway, after the range check, I spun it up to about half throttle. Those 7x5's sound simply amazing!

Very Nice!!!

Whats the process for spraying the wing? How do you get it smooth enough after glassing?

Hey Reef. I'm going up at 11a.m. tomorrow, if you can believe that. I had honey do's that needed to be done today that freed up tomorrow for me. Right now, I'm charging lipos, and making a few adjustments to my wing rack.

Nice rack

Add some more foam to the bottom where the leading edge rest. The weight of the wings will leave indentations where the leading edge rest on the rack. Ask me how I know?

If possible keep it vertical instead, this'll keep the weight off the LE.
