Horizon Hobby has announced a 1/4 scale Cub

Well if seems Horizon will have a Cub in almost any size you want. Coming in late June they will have a quarter scale cub that can be powered by gas, glow or ELECTRIC outrunner. With a wingspan of 105 inches or so it will take a little time to assemble at the field but not bad with clips connecting the struts to the wing and the fuselage. Even includes a full model pilot. Despite my love for electrics the 1/2 hour flying time with gas is an interesting option. But I do like the easy of electricity for no clean-up taking home. But charging two 4S 5000 packs at the field would limit the flights to two or three in a day at the field. Decisions, decisions!

A friend of mines here is charging 2 5s 5000 packs (to make a 10S pack) to fly his BVM Maverick EDF 3 times a day.

With the Cub, I'd think you should be able to get pretty decent flight times vs the 3.5-4mins he is getting.

why wouldn't you charge both at home first? fly one, start charging, fly second, start charging. first ready again, fly again.
etc.

because its a bit expensive ~$700 for the two 5S packs. And as nice it'd be to have two sets, well, we don't have a lottery here.

and the 700 buys another jet!
